This update addresses for the first time hospitalizations for attempted suicide. It seems that the rate of hospitalizations for attempted suicide has increased in Quebec over the past 10 years. The increase can be seen in both men and women. The increase is notable among adolescent girls aged 15 to 19. These findings differ from the trend for the suicide death rate, which may seem paradoxical.
