Funding opportunity of the Public Health and Services Analysis Platform of the RQSHA

The Platform of Public Health and Services Analysis, directed by Alain Lesage, Elham Rahme, Marie-Josée Fleury and Christophe Huynh, offers two grants of $ 2500 to support the production of a scientific article to all student members of the RQSHA (MA, Ph.D.) or postdoctoral fellow, who are supervised by a regular member of the RQSHA.

The candidate must be the main author of the article and the regular member of the RQSHA must be the senior author (last or before last author).

The articles must be in line with the orientations of the platform focusing mainly on epidemiology and mental health, addiction and suicide-related services in Quebec, and using administrative health databases (Integrated System of chronic diseases surveillance of Quebec [SISMACQ] of  the National Institute of public health of Quebec than other databases belonging to institutions other than the INSPQ, for example Med-ÉCHO, I-CLSC, SIC-SRD, etc.

The candidate must also meet one of the following two conditions: a) article published or accepted since April 1, 2021 and including an acknowledgment to the RQSHA for its financial support; or b) article in finalization, which must be submitted by December 24, 2021, also including an acknowledgment to the RQSHA.

The candidate must submit a PDF document that contains:

1) the title of the article;

2) the authors;

3) the details of the publication (journal, year, etc.);

4) the accepted or published abstract of the article or the abstract to be submitted (maximum 350 words);

5) proof of the candidate’s university registration;

6) proof of article submission (either the full article in PDF format if published, or the editor’s email confirming receipt of submission or acceptance of the article) or a short, signed letter from the senior author, a regular member of the RQSHA, indicating the near finalization of the article and its possible submission by December 24, 2021.

The evaluation criteria will be based on the relevance of the article for the RQSHA and the platform of services analysis and public health, the quality of the publication of which the review, the feasibility of the project if applicable, the methodological rigor of the article, as well as its originality and the scope of its clinical implications or general consequences.

The results of the competition will be announced in December 2021. Candidates not already funded by the RQSHA and the platform of services analysis and public health since 2019 will be given priority.
