The Biopsychosocial Analysis of Mental Health Trajectories Platform offers several fellowships to Mastersâ, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows supervised by members of the Quebec Network on Suicide, Mood Disorders and Associated Disorders, with the aim of using the genome-wide genotype data collected from participants from the Quebec Longitudinal Study of Child Development (890 children followed from birth to adolescence) and the Quebec Newborn Twin Study (827 children followed from birth to adolescence and 406 parents). These projects should focus on the genetic and environmental risks factors underlying emotional and behavioral difficulties, the development of internalizing (e.g., depression) and externalizing (e.g., aggression) problems, as well as suicidal risk.
The available budget for this call is $20,000 to be used to support two masterâs, doctoral, or postdoctoral awards of $10,000 each.
Financial support from the supervisor is expected (for example, as a scholarship/fellowship top-up).

HOW TO APPLY
PhD students and postdoctoral fellows who wish to apply must:
âą Be registered as mastersâ or doctoral students at the time of application, or, for the post-doctoral fellowship, have defended their doctorate less than 5 years prior to 31 December 2023.
âą Send a cover letter (1 page maximum) 1) describing their training and experience in genetically informed analysis, 2) indicating the name of their supervisor and mentioning that they are a member of the Network, 3) specifying their commitment to carry out the proposed project if the award is awarded.
âą Send a project proposal that involves the analysis of genetic data (1 page maximum). Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in quantitative or molecular genetics.
