The Quebec Network on Suicide, Mood and Related Disorders ( RQSHA) invites you to its annual scientific day, in the amphitheatre and atrium of the CHU Sainte-Justine, adjacent to the Research Centre. In addition to presentations by invited speakers and colleagues whose recent collaborations with the Network we would like to highlight, RQSHA will unveil its new proposed structure for the 2024-2032 renewal, which will allow for a presentation of the platforms that will be updated as well as those that will join the Network for the occasion. A poster session will accompany the lunch hour and breaks, and the day will close with the general assembly.

The day will be held in hybrid mode: you will be able to participate in person or virtually.

The conferences are NOT available for replay.

Mental health is critically important to everyone, everywhere. All over the world, mental health needs are high but responses are insufficient and inadequate.

This comprehensive report draws on the latest evidence available, showcasing examples of good practice from around the world, and voicing people’s lived experience of mental health conditions. It highlights why and where change is most needed and how it can best be achieved. It calls on all stakeholders to work together to deepen the value and commitment given to mental health, reshape the environments that influence mental health and strengthen the systems that care for people’s mental health.

Join this important event to hear from those engaged with this seminal work which will support governments, care providers, civil society agencies and individuals in transforming mental health.

Research in the field of psychoactive substances: an overview of current projects at l’Institut Universitaire sur les Dépendances

“This presentation provides an overview of four ongoing research projects being conducted at the ‘Institut Universitaire Sur Les Dépendances’ to educate students on various research issues in the field of addictions. The first project being presented, based on an online survey, examines the characteristics and motives of Canadians who drive after using cannabis. The second project, based on a quantitative design and using data from an online survey, examines the impact of COVID-19 restriction measures on substance use and supply. Using qualitative interviews, the third project deepens our understanding on the transition of people receiving opioid agonist treatments (Methadone, Suboxone, etc.), from federal penitentiaries to the community. Using clinical-administrative databases, the fourth project focuses on prevalence, concurrent disorders and mortality among Quebecers previously diagnosed with a substance use disorder.”

Le Département de psychiatrie et d’addictologie et le Département de médecine familiale et de médecine d’urgence vous convient à la 4e journée interdépartementale de santé mentale de la Faculté de médecine de l’Université de Montréal qui se tiendra exclusivement en webdiffusion le 19 novembre 2021 sous le thème de « SOIGNER SANS GUÉRIR : LA PSYCHIATRIE ET LES SOINS PALLIATIFS, UN PARTENARIAT INCONTOURNABLE ».

Ce colloque sera l’occasion d’échanger avec des experts nationaux, internationaux et issus de notre propre communauté universitaire sur différents sujets, tels que :

–        les nouvelles pratiques interdisciplinaires en soins palliatifs;

–        une mise à jour des approches pour traiter les troubles psychiatriques en contexte de maladie terminale;

–        le concept de «psychiatrie palliative» pour les troubles mentaux sévères et persistants;

–        de l’expérience acquise en matière d’aide médicale à mourir (AMM) et différentes perspectives sur son élargissement anticipé aux troubles mentaux comme seules affections médicales invoquées.
