ACFAS Symposium: Thank you!

We wish to thank all the participants in our ACFAS Symposium, Colloque 103 : L’exploitation des banques de données administratives pour de meilleurs services en santé mentale, en dépendances et en prévention du suicide, which took place May 12 during the 85th annual meeting of the ACFAS.

It was a great pleasure to welcome you, and we had rich exchanges with students, researchers and representatives from Quebec public institutions.  We hope you gained from your participation.

We also invite you to read an article recently published in La Presse +, who discusses a recent study by Marie-Josée Fleury, showing that people with a psychiatric diagnosis are 50% more likely to use emergency room consultations that the rest of the population, a result that was also reported at the ACFAS meeting.

Here are two pictures of the symposium

The first shows the round table participants, who discussed: Est-ce que les banques de données administratives peuvent améliorer les services sociaux et de santé auprès des individus en situation de vulnérabilité?

Marie-Josée FLEURY (Université McGill), Sylvie VÉZINA (MSSS - Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux du Québec), Danielle St-Laurent (Institut national de santé publique du Québec), André Delorme (Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux), Mike BENIGERI (UdeM - Université de Montréal), Alain Vanasse (UdeS - Université de Sherbrooke)

The second show the symposium participants at the end of a very enriching day.
